Jason Mercier burst onto the scene by winning the EPT Sanremo Main Event in 2008 and went on to become one of the most dominant WSOP players of the 2010s, winning six bracelets and the 2016 WSOP Player of the Year title. He spent many years at number one in the Global Poker Index rankings.
Mercier stepped back from full-time play to raise a family but remains a frequent WSOP competitor, particularly in mixed games.
