Erik Seidel has been at the top of poker for longer than anyone. A former backgammon pro and Wall Street trader, he finished second to Johnny Chan in the 1988 WSOP Main Event, a hand immortalised in the film Rounders, and has gone on to win ten WSOP bracelets across four decades.
Seidel is a Poker Hall of Famer whose 2011 season, with more than $6 million in winnings including the Aussie Millions A$250,000 Challenge, showed he could compete with the new generation of high roller specialists. He remains a regular at the biggest buy-ins well into his sixties.
