It’s the 20th anniversary of Chris Moneymaker’s famous 2003 Main Event win, and to honour the occasion, Poker King is giving you the chance to emulate Moneymaker’s feat and win your way to Vegas.
Weekly Leaderboard Competition
Poker King is running a Weekly Leaderboard Competition where players can earn points by playing in special MTTs that will be running every Saturday. The more points you earn, the more chips you’ll have in the $500,000 guaranteed Final Tournament, with a grand prize of $100,000 cash + a $15,000 Main Event package.
With $1,000,000 guaranteed across this promotion, there are plenty of ways to win, so even if you don’t nab the grand prize, you can still make a tidy profit. The $1,000,000 is split in two, with half the money going to the Weekly Leaderboard Competition participants, with the other half going to the prize pool of the Final Tournament.
From March 11th to May 28th, Poker King will be hosting weekly Saturday MTTs with a buy-in of $86 in honour of Moneymaker’s famous satellite win. Players are allowed one re-entry in every tournament. Satellites will shortly be announced, so stay tuned for that information!
Weekly Leaderboard Points
There will be a total of 13 weekly events, with points awarded to players who finish 24th or higher. Let’s take a look at the breakdown of points you can earn in each tournament.

Plus, every player who enters one of these weekly tournaments will automatically earn 2000 points towards the leaderboard. As an added bonus, anyone who plays all 13 events will be given an additional 10,000 points, giving you a total of 36,000 points just for showing up. That’s the equivalent of two wins and a 4th place, even if you’re first out in every event!
$500K Guaranteed Final Tournamnent
You’ll want to earn as many points as possible over the series, as the more points you earn, the more chips you’ll have in the $500,000 guaranteed final tournament. Once the Weekly Leaderboard Series has concluded, your points will be turned into chips for the Final Tournament at face value, meaning each point you earn is worth one chip.
