That’s right, everyone’s favourite poker show is back for an unprecedented 11th season – but this time, with a twist. We all know High Stakes Poker as a 40-minute show highlighting the biggest hands and the most dramatic pots, with some light commentary sprinkled in by the likes of Gabe Kaplan and AJ Benza and, more recently, Nick Schulman.
However, this year they’re kicking things off with a full-on $200/$400 cash game live stream featuring some of the biggest names in the poker world today, as well as some fan favourites.
What’s the Lineup?
This is the first live stream in the history of High Stakes Poker, so you better believe they’re going all out to get the most viewers possible. What does that mean? It means we’ve got some of the most controversial figures in the poker world all playing at the same table – as well as some fan favourites that we can all agree are pretty great. Let’s take a closer look at the lineup.
- Doug Polk
- Matt Berkey
- Nik Airball
- Eric Persson
- Jennifer Tilly
- Rob Yong
- Bill Klein
You’ve read that right – Berkey and Airball and Polk and Persson are all playing at the same table! You can be sure there’s going to be fireworks at this table; I don’t think we’re gonna see a repeat of the Polk vs Negraneau match where they were decent human beings in person – we’re gonna see blood, maybe literally!
To balance out what I’m dubbing “The Axis of Evil,” we have three players everyone seems to universally love at the table – Rob Yong, Jennifer Tilly, and Bill Klein. All three are staples in high-stakes games on TV and live streams around the world, and while they may find it hard to get a word in, they’re going to be good for plenty of action.
What’s The Format?
The game is going to be $200/$400 No Limit Texas Hold’em with a $400 big blind ante. Almost all of the players at the table are known for wanting to play deep, so we can expect some huge stacks to start the game off, with plenty of six-figure pots being played. Don’t be surprised to see the blinds kicked up before the end of the night!
When Is The Game?
The game starts at 5:30pm ET (10:30pm GMT) on Thursday, the 27th of April, so there’s not long to wait to see what could be the most explosive live stream in the history of poker. As for the rest of Season 11, we’re yet to hear a confirmation on when exactly that will air, as they’re still in the process of airing Season 10.
Where Can I Watch It?
If you want to tune in for this potential car crash of a poker show, you can watch it live on PokerGo or on the PokerGo YouTube channel.
This lineup has the potential to be one of the most interesting games ever live-streamed, and we can’t wait to see what happens!
