It was one of the most exciting online tournaments of all time, and it concluded on Pokerstars just last night, after 3 days of intense poker action. The final 38 contenders to enter Day 3 must have been on the edge of their computer seats as they battled to make it to this very exclusive final table, with a minimum of $14,000 already banked for Day 3 players, and a minimum of $88,000 for anyone making FT.
Swedish Highstakes Pro Niklas “Lena900” Astedt was surely the bookie’s favourite on Day 3, coming in with a top ten stack. He had made good use of his final bullet in this $215 buy-in event, firing all six allowed and riding it out to finish in 23rd place for a $26k payday.
This was a battle like none other in MTT poker, with the field swollen to an alarming 52,120 entrants, it really would take everything and more, and a lot of luck on top, to get anywhere close to this Final Table!
Brazil was the best-represented country at the final table, however, with a full four of the nine players seated hailing from Brazil. These players were to finish 3rd, 5th, 8th and 9th, with a Belgian, a Dane, a Brit, a Swede and a German making up the rest of the line-up.
BlackBeaty from Germany was to best them all in this one, playing down to heads-up and agreeing to a chop at that point, ultimately crushing it in style for a $931,885 payday.
The final hand saw an all-in on the river from Blackbeaty on a 3♥6♣6♠ T♣ 4♠ runout and a call from his opponent, Danish player JanRas1983 with just 5♣3♦ for bottom pair, and when Blackbeaty tabled his J♣6♦ for trips it was all over.
