It’s day three of the Festival in Malta, and the tournaments are in full swing. There has been tons of action, as well as a few big winners so far in the first few days, so if you haven’t yet, get your ass down to Portomaso Casino and get involved.
Winners so far at the Festival, Malta
There have been a few winners at the Festival so far, the biggest winners both bagging over €5,000 for their first-place wins. Totti Lind beat Erik Risberg heads-up to claim the W in the Sviten Special taking home €5,200.

The PLO Championship attracted 75 entries, racking up a decent prize pool of €16,200. Mirko Romeo took home the championship first prize of €5,150 after defeating Samin Pulliainen heads-up. The final table provided some laughs for the spectators with third place going to Martin “Franke” von Zweigbergk, founder of the Festival series and all-round funny dude. Read more here.

In other events, Svein Olav Eidsaeter took home the title for the ‘Win the Button’ tournament, bagging himself €2,380.
Mikael Gronvik won the Half and Half event, a tournament with one level NLHE, one level PLO. He took home €2,045.
The roulette Tournament found 19 entries for a prize pool of just over 2k. Martins Geiba spun his way to victory for a smooth €1,000 win.
Linus Lauermann claimed the win in the early hours of the morning in the €125 Texas Bounty for €1,700 plus bounties.
Action still to look forward to…
There is still a lot to come at the Festival. Of course, there are still two day 1s of the main event to get involved in. There is also a satellite to the main event tomorrow, 18th May, for €60. If you’re a fan of mixed games, there is a H.O.R.S.E. tournament on the 18th. There are three Omaha events still to come including PLO/PLO8, PLO 4/5/6 cards, PLO Freezeout, and the PLO Turbo Midnight madness.
For the ladies, the Festival Queens event on Friday 19th is at 16:00, so pull your hair back and prepare for a card fight. The Ladies’ event, as well as a few others, will be streamed on the Festival Twitch channel, so don’t miss out.
