Scrolling on the YouTube reels algorithm has given me an interesting clip where two guys are trying to sell shoes that NBA legend Kobe Bryant was wearing, and they were asking for $50,000.
The reel was posted by a YouTube channel called “Culture Kicks Clips,” which posts clips of buying and gambling for the price of shoes at some shoe conventions.
This clip was no different from most of them, except that the seller was Phil Ivey, who is often referred to as the Michael Jordan or Tiger Woods of poker. Ivey is known for his passion for gambling, and it was no surprise that negotiations over the price of the shoes turned into an all-or-nothing coin flip..

After a few jokes, the Culture Kicks recognized and referred to Ivey as a poker star, and then things started to get serious as Ivey was challenged to flip for the negotiated price of $42.500. They decided to flip a coin and guess what.. Phil Ivey won, and the shoes were sold for $42,500.
The whole thing turned into good fun, and once again, Ivey cares more about the game of gambling than the money, as he could have just sold the shoes for $42.500 without risking losing a coin flip and giving them for free..

Phil Ivey is One of The Greatest Poker Players of All-Time
Phil Ivey recorded his first MTT win in 1998 when he came first in a Seven Card Stud game at Atlantic City for $1,000. The legend is still very active at the poker tables and has played plenty of high-roller tournaments around the world in 2025, winning millions of dollars.
Ivey is currently ranked sixth in Hendon Mob’s All-Time Money list with $54,211,084 in earnings from live poker tournaments. Ivey is the owner of 11 WSOP bracelets, which sets him in second place behind Phil Hellmuth, who has won 17 WSOP bracelets.

Ivey has also added two WPT titles, two Aussie Millions titles, five Triton titles, and other major titles like the 2005 Monte Carlo Millions. His most significant win came in 2014 when he won the Ausie Millions event, A$250,000 No Limit Hold’em – $250,000 Challenge for $ 3,582,753.
